00:00 Russian Hackers Access to Sensitive Defense Information US Contractors Targeted | Cybersecurity News
05:13 What can we learn?

As per the alert, Russian-backed hackers had attacked vetted defense contractors (CDCs) as well as subcontractors who helped the Defense Department with missiles and weapons research, aircraft and vehicle design, monitoring and surveillance, and military communications systems.
Contractors assisting the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Intelligence programs, and Department of Defense are compromised businesses. Russian-backed hackers have obtained critical unclassified data and export-controlled technologies through hacks targeting defense contractors, according to CISA.
Though no classified documents were stolen, the information suggests that it provides a significant knowledge of US security actions and military operations.
The FBI, CISA, and NSA predict that the state-sponsored cyber operators of Russia will continue attacking defense sectors for data in the coming years, considering the success of present activities.
Though Russia is famous for hosting cybercrime gangs, the explicit connection of cyber actions to state-sponsored entities of Russia is uncommon, and the United States agencies involved have made a strong statement.
