Singapore has called on ASEAN nations to strengthen collaboration in cybersecurity to fight rising threats. Communications and Information Minister Josephine Teo said this includes sharing intelligence and establishing benchmarks for secure devices. She was speaking at a virtual official opening of a regional cybersecurity centre of excellence in Singapore. The centre began operations in April 2020 and is an extension of the ASEAN Cyber Capacity Programme. To date, the ACCP and the centre have delivered over 30 programmes attended by more than 900 senior officials.
